Even though the weather was on the chilly side, the free ice cream station was a popular spot during Earth Day Spring Fling 2011.
<p>Members of the UConn community made donations to Mt. Sneaker 2011 on the patio of Gampel Pavillion. At the conclusion of each spring semester, the sneakers are donated  to the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe Program to be converted to new surfaces such as running tracks and playgrounds.Photo by Lauren Cunningham</p>
Donations of sneakers from members of the UConn community piled up on the patio of Gampel Pavilion. At the conclusion of each spring semester, the contents of 'Mount Sneaker' are donated to the Nike Reuse-A-Shoe Program to be converted into new surfaces, such as running tracks and playgrounds.
