Political science professor Cyrus Ernesto Zirakzadeh will be the next editor of the journal Polity, which will be housed at UConn starting this summer.
Zirakzadeh, an associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will be joined by associate editors Evelyn Simien, and Jeffrey Ladewig, both associate professors of political science. Simien also is associate director of the Humanities Institute.
Polity is the journal of the Northeastern Political Science Association, which invited Zirakzadeh to be the new editor. Polity is published by Palgrave Macmillan.
The journal, founded in 1968, comes to UConn from City University of New York. Previously it was housed at the University of Massachusetts.
With this addition, the political science department will be the home of three scholarly journals. The others are International Studies Review and the Journal of Human Rights.
