UconnScienceSalon_200x200_Graphic[1]We’re launching UConn Science Salon, a discussion series patterned after programs like Café Scientific in the Silicon Valley.  Our goal for the Salon is to create a thoughtful space for curious minds to explore current topics in science and technology – spoken in language accessible to a lay audience.

3D Printing:  Living Tissue to Human Organ, our first Salon event, takes place Thursday, June 4th at NIXS Hartford at 6pm. The discussion will explore this transformational innovation from a variety of perspectives, namely medical, ethical, economic and technical.  We’ve assembled an eminent panel including:

• Anson Ma, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Connecticut

• John Geibel, M.D., Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Director of Surgical Research at Yale University School of Medicine

• Dale Kutnick, Senior Vice President, Emeritus, and Distinguished Analyst at Gartner

• Richard Langlois, Ph.D., Professor of Economics at the University of Connecticut

In addition to a discussion featuring our distinguished panelists, Salon also offers the opportunity to experience a live demonstration 3D printing.

For more information and to RSVP, please visit uconnalumni.com/sciencesalon.  Appetizers and a complimentary drink are included with each guest reservation.  We look forward to you joining us for this exciting and thought-provoking event.
