At Howell Cheney Technical High School in Manchester, CT, students enjoy a unique learning opportunity enabling them to explore engineering concepts and to apply these principles in often fun ways, thanks to a National Science Foundation-funded program that embeds engineering graduate students in selected classrooms.

GK-12 Egg Drops Excite Tech H.S. Freshmen
Freshmen in the Cheney Technical High School CADD shop used common household items to design and build devices that would protect uncooked eggs from breaking during drops from varying heights. Led by UConn NSF GK-12 Fellow Neil Spinner, students were introduced to concepts of science and engineering in a fun and engaging way.
